I have resigned myself to the fact that my life revolves around poop. If you are a new parent, or an experienced one, you know what I mean.
You have a baby and your day suddenly becomes a barrage of poopie diapers, poopie diapers that have exploded, poop in the bathtub, poop on the rug... poop. What color is it? Is it the right texture? Does this poop look right?
When Kai was a baby, her poop was pale yellow, almost white. I didn't know that was bad. Her specialists spend countless hours analyzing her poop. After her surgery, her primary specialist ran out of our hospital room with a diaper in his hand exclaiming, "Look at this beautiful Ca-ca!"
When they get a little older, you go through potty training. Poop in the pants, poop in the potty, sometimes there's even poop in the floor, wiping poop off little butts... "do you have to poop?"
You spend copious amounts of time trying to avoid poop. Dog poop (we live with 4 dogs presently; there's a ton of dog poop here), some kid pooped on the slide at the play ground, another kid pooped in the pool at the Y. Step away from the poop!
We have books about poop, "Everybody Poops". We have an Elmo movie about poop, "Elmo Goes Potty". Poop. Poop. Poop.
