kai has a staff infection in her broviac iv line. we came into the ER the other night with her after discovering she had a fever of 103. we will most likely be here until late next week while they treat her for the infection and probably remove the broviac line. they were hoping to have her off the TPN (iv nutrition) by today anyway so, the process of removing the line will simply be expedited.
hopefully, we will be sent home with a healthy baby sometime next week.
kai will have an ng (naso gastric) feeding tube in until she can learn how to eat again as she has forgotten over the last two months that she was unable to take anything other than medicine by mouth.
