I hope our transplant sponsor parents don't mind me swiping their slogan but, it's just so fitting.
Ryan is home healing and gets a little bit better each day. he's very sore and weak but making great progress.
kai seems to be strong like her daddy. almost a week out from the 1st surgery and she is doing really well. the liver is functioning beautifully. she is completely of the ventilator and breathing well on her own. she had some issues with her kidneys and fluid in her lungs, both of which have resolved. she only has 1 iv line in her neck (with 3 ports) down from 4 different iv lines. she is a beautiful shade of pink and her blue eyes have never been more beautiful. she was definitely feeling better today. I was able to hold her and breast feed her this afternoon. no characteristic kai smiles and giggles, yet, but she's been exercising that sweet voice all day and telling her nurses how much she dislikes being poked and prodded. :)
