Bringing Holiday Cheer to Georgetown University Hospital

Last year, along with other Liver Families, we started an annual event to bring a holiday dinner and gifts to children and their families, admitted to GUH in Washington, DC. over the holiday season. We raised over $2,000 and we able to bring two whole Turkey's and enough sides and desserts to feed the children and families stuck in the hospital over the Holiday, as well as the medical staff who volunteered to work on Christmas Eve.

We're gearing up for this year's event and would be happy to accept any help or donations offered:

1. Monetary donations will go toward providing dinner for the children and their families "stuck" in the hospital over the holidays.

2. Also, grocery and gas gift cards for families struggling with the cost of medial expenses and providing for their families/driving back and forth from the hospital. Area stores include Safeway, Giant, Shell, Exxon, etc.

3. Donations of toys to give ages infant through teen - new, in package, if used it must be able to be wiped clean. Books, Movies/DVDs and games, crafts that the kids can use in the hospital rooms to pass the time. These are not needed as much as there is a local charity - Cole's closet - that provides much of this. *MOST OF WHAT IS NEEDED IN THIS CATEGORY IS NEW TOYS FOR INFANTS AND TODDLERS/Preschoolers* as the majority of the kids are in that age group.
