Hi everyone - This is Courtney, Jasmine’s friend, posting on her behalf.
I just spoke with her, and Ryan is awake, tired, but doing great.
According to the surgeon, the transplant went beautifully, and Kai is stable and doing fine. They expect her yellow color to fade and for her to turn pink any minute now!
Kai will have to be monitored closely over the next week to make sure her body is accepting Ryan’s liver and that everything works correctly. If for some reason there are issues that don’t correct themselves, she will be moved up to the top of the donor list to receive an infant liver.
The doctors sound very positive about things either way. Jasmine sounds exhausted, but really happy.
