this has become the phrase of choice in this new experience for me. pregnancy is just full of interesting little things.
like cravings, for instance. i have horrible morning sickness (which, by the way, does not only occur in the morning-yeah, fun fact about that little misnomer), the ONLY thing that helps is to eat what i am craving in a timely manner. that's fine if what i'm craving is a hamburger or something kind of easy to get. last night i was craving boston market chicken, a homemade chocolate milk shake and a homemade blueberry pie. "just go buy some chicken, pie and ice cream at the store" you might say... it's not that easy. the ice cream, yes... but try finding a homemade blueberry pie within proximity of a boston market, and it MUST be homemade pie and specifically boston market, during rush hour when you're exhausted because, oh yes, that's another side effect... fatigue.
i'm not just talking about being a little sleepy. i'm talking about dead-tired-i-can't-keep-my-eyes-open-and-i-might-crash-my-car-if-i-don't-get-home-soon kind of tired. i slept from 5pm to 8:30pm last night, got up for a 1/2 hour to find some chocolate milk and then went back to bed and didn't budge until 5am to get ready for work... i didn't even get up to pee!
yup... another side effect. i don't even have to drink anything and i still have to pee every 5 minutes. and someone should really write a book named, "pregnancy: why can't i poop?". sorry if that was TMI for anyone but pregnancy isn't all cute bellies and pastel baby stuff.
...and i cry about everything. which is great at work when i take a break and i'm reading an excerpt from "chicken soup for the mother-to-be's soul" and i spontaneously break into tears at my desk. yeah...
but, after all that, i have to say... i'm still happy and excited. it's definitely an interesting experience...
